Murrumbidgee Catchment Management Authority

About Us

The Murrumbidgee Catchment Management Authority (CMA) delivers funding from the NSW and Australian Governments to help land managers improve and restore the natural resources of the catchment.

The Murrumbidgee CMA is a community managed statutory organisation established by the NSW Government in 2004.  It is overseen by a community-based Board.

The Murrumbidgee Catchment Action Plan has been developed in consultation with Local Government and the catchment community to set .

Mission

By working together with the community to better manage our natural resources and improve the social, environmental and economic outcomes for our catchment we will:

  • provide strategic direction for the management of natural resources through the Murrumbidgee Catchment Action Plan;
  • through co-investment, facilitate the inter-dependent outcomes of profitable farmers, sustainable systems and healthy landscapes;
  • utilise the best available science to underpin decision making; and,
  • foster partnerships with industry, government agencies, Traditional Owners and other Aboriginal people, local government, rural and urban communities, landcare and other stakeholders.
