The Murrumbidgee Catchment Management Authority (MCMA) is about bringing communities, Landcare, Indigenous communities, Industry and all levels of Government together to improve the productivity, profitability and the natural resources of the Murrumbidgee catchment.
The MCMA can help local people by: - Involving them in the development and implementation of the Murrumbidgee Catchment Action Plan.
- Administering incentive funding for on-ground works and training that will improve the natural resources of the Murrumbidgee catchment.
- Managing native vegetation.
- Undertaking and coordinating targeted projects and programs that are essential for productive and profitable landscapes.
What can you do to help?
There are many ways individuals can help improve the natural resources of the Murrumbidgee catchment.
Anyone can become involved in looking after their catchment by joining their local Landcare group. These groups are made up of local volunteers who aim to reverse land degradation and promote sustainable agriculture.
You can also help around your home and work place by doing simple things such as; - conserving water
