RHLN Nursery

The Riverina Highlands Landcare Nursery was opened in April 2000 to provide locally grown native trees, shrubs and grasses for Landcare, community and individual projects.

Over 40,000 plants are grown each year.  The main species grown include River Red Gums, Yellow Box, Blakeleys Red Gum, White Box, Red Box, Stringybark, Ironbark, Silver Wattle, Blackwood, River Bottlebrush, River Tea Tree, Prickly Tea Tree, Narrow Leaf Hopbush and Lomandra.

The Nursery specialises in growing native tubestock hardened off to suit the region’s local climatic conditions.

The premises are provided by the Tumut Shire Council and are run by a small team of dedicated volunteers and coordinated by a Landcare Nursery Coordinator.

Plants grown by the Nursery are donated to various community projects and schools, sold to the public and supplied for local environmental projects.

The Nursery is open most week days between 8.00am and 12.00pm.

For further information contact the Landcare Nursery Coordinator on 0427 568 131.
